THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF NUTRITION'S CERTIFICATION BOARD FOR NUTRITION SPECIALISTS SELECTS JONATHAN W. EMORD TO BE FIRST NON-SCIENTIST BOARD MEMBER

Orlando, Florida - The Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CBNS) announced today the selection of constitutional and administrative lawyer Jonathan W. Emord to be its first non-scientist board member. Emord was nominated and elected to the position by the CBNS board at its annual convention in Orlando, Florida on September 2, 2009. Emord was informed of his nomination last week and of his election to the board on September 4, 2009. Emord will serve a two year term. The CBNS is the scientific certifying arm of the prestigious American College of Nutrition (ACN). The CNS credential is only available to those who possess a master's, doctoral, or professional level degree in nutrition science or a closely allied subject who meet the stringent requirements of the CBNS. Dr. Robert I. Lin is the newly elected President of the CBNS. The CNS title awarded by the CBNS following examination is the nation's foremost graduate level nutrition specialist certification.

"I am honored to have been nominated and selected by the CBNS board," said Emord. "It is humbling to be the only non-scientist member of the board," he said, "I will do my level best to advance the mission of this worthwhile organization and to encourage support for its good programs."
